I think Keep Your Daydream mentioned this place on their YouTube tonight. How far out did you need to make the reservation? Do you know the price range of the sites? We also have an LTV like you. And no toad 😂
I booked in March. Nightly fee is $75. Our most expensive overnight yet. Glad to have you along for the ride everyday. Do you have a favorite story or two and what topics do you like to read about?
Thanks! I love hearing all of your travel adventures! We have an old dog, too, so it’s interesting to see how this is impacting your wife’s travels. We aren’t sure how well handle our older dog’s needs yet. Our 2 younger pups love the RV
We live in rural Warren County. Williamsport is our county seat and what our address says. The closest town is called State Line City. It’s on the Indiana/Illinois border where it used to be long distance calling your neighbor right across the road from you back when everyone had a landline phone.
Northern Michigan was my second home for many years. Mackinac Island is truly an American gem. Once you have visited the island you can now officially be called a “fudgy” even if you haven’t imbibed at one of the many fudge shops. If heading south I recommend taking in the little town of Harbor Springs or Petoskey. I have been following your blog since the beginning and appreciate all you have shared with your journeys. Especially the arrive Canada app as Geoff and I will be heading that way in a couple weeks visiting The Maritime provinces. Safe travels back to Stuart.
Camping in Petoskey for five nights, staying with friends for at least one night in Harbor Springs and will day trip to Charlevoix, so yes, I will spend time with the "three sisters" on Little Traverse Bay. Glad you are following along and are enjoying the ride. Weather here today is currently 63 degrees, blowing out of the ENE 11-13, wet, gray. Hopefully conditions improve overnight for a sunny Monday. Have fun in the Maritimes. Our friends in Harbor Springs are heading there shortly as well. Safe journey!
I’m not sure what to think of the Disney-like multi generational run campgrounds. On one hand they offer typical convenience of a Motel Six and on the other a chance to say you’re camping.
I’ve stayed in a few and generally have had a good experience because of the proximity they provided for being in the area in the first place.
But, for today I still prefer out of the way state and National parks with far fewer ‘home-like’ amenities.
But, I can’t wait to eventually see Mackinaw Island, and if that means staying in a 1,000 site campground I guess I can make do.
Amazing. Who knew?!

Hilarious. Remember ‘party lines’?

Love this campground and have made it a yearly tradition to take a week off and leave the summer heat behind for the cool breeze off the lake.
Nice meeting you Gary and look forward to reading about your trips.
And you as well, let's hope the weather clears this evening so we can have a sunny Monday.
Great to meet you guys from Indiana. What town are you from?
I love your campsite. That’s how I enjoy camping. Enjoy your time there. Say hello to your honey

I too prefer state/national parks, but this has been a good experience.
