Day 58: Cruising-Daytime Nashville
A little tired after all of our activities the day AND evening before, so we slowed it down (a little).
We started the day at the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum. It was fascinating; we spent three hours there. We also took a guided tour of the historic RCA Recording Studio B (where Elvis recorded all of his albums). Even if you aren’t a fan of Country Music, you might still find these photos interesting. Check it out. Be sure to zoom in on the placards in many images to understand better the content displayed.

Next, we jumped on a shuttle to visit the Historic RCA Studio B (a few miles away), where many great music artists have recorded and still record.

After our tours, we drove west to Nashville’s Centennial Park to see the full-scale reproduction of the Parthenon and the enormous concrete and gold sculpture (nearly 42’ tall) of Athena inside.
Athena stands nearly 42 feet tall; in her right hand, Nike is 6’4” in height.
After leaving the Parthenon (about 200 yards south) is a unique, lifelike sculpture dedicated to the Women’s Suffridge Movement. Each bronze sculpture feels like the individual women are moving forward (they are not standing on a solid base), only the concrete sidewalk. It was awe-inspiring and imparted a powerful feeling of strength and accomplishment. I like it a lot!
Special thanks for the southern hospitality our LTV Nashville friends Guil and Susan extended to us. You guys made our trip to Nashville extra special. We hope we see them again soon.
Tomorrow LisaMarie flies home to take care of our sick puppy; Zoe is still not doing well. So, once I drop LisaMarie off at the airport, I am on a seven-day solo ride through Alabama to the Gulf Coast of Florida (Pensacola, Panama City, Destin, Tampa). I hope you keep me company on the long drive home.
THAT was amazing!!!! Thank you so much for sharing those. I felt like I was there. Amazing how life like the photo's are. Crazy how much donations of items they have in the museum. Enjoy
Greek mythology and Hank Williams Jr, who would have thought? Fun tour.
